Located in the northern part of the vast Nahuel Huapi National Park, Cerro Negro provides a high-altitude trekking experience ideal for hikers with intermediate skills. Over approximately 6 hours of hiking, you will explore this majestic peak situated near Villa Traful.
The ascent to Cerro Negro presents an exciting challenge, with a trail that winds around the imposing rocky walls on the eastern flank of the mountain. The summit offers breathtaking views extending in all directions. On clear days, you can admire the distant Lanín Volcano and the nearby Cerro Falkner to the north. To the south, your views will open up to the majestic Tronador and extend to the Chilean volcanoes Osorno, Puntiagudo, and Puyehue.
