Overview

Embark on an exhilarating adventure with our trek to the summit of Cerro Centinela, one of the most rewarding experiences in Villa La Angostura. The excursion begins just a few meters from the Huemul ranger station, located on National Route 40. Access is via the Huemul River gate, followed by a journey through logging roads until you reach the cow salt licks, where the marked trail begins your adventure.

The trail winds through a lush coihue forest, meandering alongside the stream that accompanies your hike. As you progress, you'll be amazed by a splendid waterfall approximately 15 meters high, which is the main attraction of this route.

The trek is divided into two distinct sections. The first part is relatively easy, suitable for hikers with basic experience, and extends to a cattle guard of the National Park. The second part presents a greater challenge with a steeper terrain, where difficulty increases due to the pronounced slope and the need to cross a hillside. This section culminates in a beautiful pool formed by the waterfall, offering a visual reward and an indescribable sense of accomplishment.

Prepare for a day of exploration and natural beauty, and enjoy a unique experience in one of Patagonia’s most stunning landscapes.
