Embark on an unforgettable adventure in the heart of Patagonia! This 2-day trekking excursion will take you through breathtaking landscapes, culminating in a unique experience at Refugio Dedo Gordo.

Day 1: Exploration and Adventure

We start the morning with a pickup from your accommodation and a transfer to the beginning of the Wharton Trail. We will ascend through a scenic path to Refugio Dedo Gordo, enjoying spectacular views along the way.

Upon arrival, you can enjoy a packed lunch while relaxing and soaking in the beauty of the surroundings. After recharging your energy, you will have the opportunity to explore the surrounding area and marvel at the majesty of the landscape. In the evening, you will settle into the cozy Refugio Dedo Gordo for a night of rest amidst nature. Optionally, you can choose to have a meticulously prepared dinner to complete your experience.

Day 2: Valle del Río Azul viewpoint

The second day begins early with a delicious breakfast at the refuge. We will then embark on a morning trek of approximately 2 hours to the Valle del Río Azul viewpoint. This viewpoint offers an impressive panoramic view, ideal for capturing photographs and enjoying the serenity of the landscape.

 

Along the way, we will take a break for lunch, allowing you to take in the beauty of the surroundings while enjoying a carefully prepared packed meal. After lunch, we will head back to El Bolsón, where you will be transferred back to your accommodation.

The overnight stay at the refuge is subject to availability because a reservation cant be done
Sleeping Bag
It is essential to bring a sleeping bag, because the shelter does not provide bedding.
Trekking clothing
We recommend bringing: Comfortable and resistant pants (preferably trekking pants that can dry quickly). Breathable long and short sleeve t-shirts (depending on weather conditions). Additional layers like a sweatshirt or light jacket to protect you from wind or cold, especially in the early morning or evening.
Accessories
We recommend bringing: Sunglasses with UV protection. Sunscreen. Small backpack to carry water, snacks and your personal belongings. Trekking poles (optional but useful to help you on uneven terrain).
Footwear
We recommend wearing: Trekking boots or comfortable but resistant shoes, preferably waterproof and with good ankle support.
Dinner
The overnight stay at the shelter includes the use of the kitchen. The refuge also offers dinner
