Overview

Immerse yourself in an unforgettable experience with our trek to Cerro Panguinal, an adventure that will take you through some of the most stunning landscapes of Villa La Angostura. The hike begins at kilometer 6.5 of National Route 231, where the trailhead marks the start of your journey to discover the region's beauty.

Initially, you'll traverse a dense cane field before entering a pristine coihue forest. As you progress, the trail gradually ascends to reach the first North lookout, where you can enjoy captivating panoramic views. Continuing for approximately another hour and a half, you'll arrive at the South lookout, offering an even more impressive view of the surroundings.

The route winds beneath the canopy of the coihue forest, following the stream that adds a touch of serenity to the hike. The journey culminates at a spectacular waterfall about 15 meters high, the main highlight of this trail.

The trail is divided into two distinct stages. The first section is relatively easy, suitable for hikers with basic experience, leading to a cattle guard of the National Park. The second section presents a greater challenge, with steeper terrain and the need to cross a hillside, increasing the difficulty. This final stage ends at the pool formed by the waterfall, where you can relax and enjoy the natural beauty you’ve achieved.

Prepare for a day of exploration, natural beauty, and panoramic views, and experience a unique adventure in the breathtaking landscapes of Patagonia.
