Overview

This trekking experience, ideal for nature and adventure enthusiasts, will take you through stunning landscapes and varied terrain, all under the expert guidance of a mountain professional. The adventure includes not only the hike but also an overnight stay at the charming Refugio Frey with full board.

You will begin your journey with our transportation service, which will pick you up from your accommodation and take you to the trailhead at the Cerro Catedral parking lot. From there, you’ll start a hike that begins on a path shared with a vehicular route, but you’ll soon immerse yourself in the tranquility of the Patagonian forest.

The trail becomes increasingly enchanting as it winds close to the Arroyo Van Titter. During the approximately 6-kilometer trek, you will pass by Refugio Piedritas, an ideal spot for a brief pause to enjoy the natural surroundings. As you continue, the terrain becomes steeper, but each step rewards you with spectacular views of the region.

Upon reaching Refugio Emilio Frey, located by the shores of Laguna Toncek, you’ll find yourself in a perfect alpine setting to relax. The refuge offers full board, so you will have a comforting dinner during your stay. The night at the refuge allows you to experience the calm and beauty of the surroundings under the starry sky.

The next morning, after an energizing breakfast, you will begin your descent along the same trail, returning to the starting point with unforgettable memories of this unique adventure.
